Today Friday April 3,2015 I was about to changes classes and
some student came into the class that I was in and said there were cranes
outside on the pond. Everyone in my class went to the exit door the one in the
class rooms so when there is a fire we can go out of that door and we were all
amazed that there were cranes up here I have never seen a big bird up here
before besides an eagle. Cranes are a clade of large, long-legged
and long-necked birds in the group Gruiformes. There are fifteen species of
crane in four genera. Unlike the similar-looking but unrelated herons, cranes
fly with necks outstretched, not pulled back. A grey crowned crane adult is
3.3ft, a common crane adult is 3.3- 4.3 ft, and a blue crane is 3.3- 3.9 ft
tall.
